Hi friends! I’d like to welcome you to my blog page as part of my Digital Marketing course at NYU this semester!

Throughout the next few months (and potentially after), you’ll get to read my weekly hot takes on the world of marketing, social media, communications, and more.

This isn’t my first time blogging, but it is the first time in roughly 5 years that I’ll be sharing my thoughts online someplace other than Twitter. I’m excited to dive into more niche topics surrounding the marketing space and start thought provoking conversations here on Medium!

So, I thought I would start off with a little bit about myself and how we ended up here:

Hi :) This is me

I was born and raised in the humid land of South Florida and lived there until I ventured a bit north for college at the University of Central Florida in Orlando. During those four years, I was a bit lost (as we all are) in terms of what I wanted to do with my life as a post graduate. I was studying Human Communications because it was general enough to enter a lot of different industries. Flash forward to present day- I’m living in NYC and working towards a masters in Integrated Marketing at NYU. Seem’s like a logical next step, right?

Well, that wasn’t the initial path I chose. I jumped around in the professional world as a post-graduate, focusing on working in less corporate industries. I dipped my toes into theater casting (I’m a former theater kid and Broadway junkie), and then spent a year in cosmetics retail at Sephora (I’m also very into make-up artistry). But these jobs were just that- jobs. They were not careers.

I have always been searching for a career that allows me to be my creative self, but was also secure enough to make a living. I had a hard time finding it, until I found marketing.

So here we are; 24 years old, in graduate school, during a pandemic, in NYC, and trying to make it all work.
